Keyboard and Mouse Skills

This free course of two sessions of two hours each is for absolute beginners to computing.

We introduce you to the terminology (computer-speak) and what Hardware and Software means as well as introducing you to the various components of the computer.

You will learn how to hold the Mouse correctly and how to use it to move the Mouse Pointer (Cursor) around the screen of your computer (Desktop).
The Mouse is used to activate commands on the computer and to open up 'drop-down' menus which allow you to select actions for your computer.

In Keyboard Skills we familiarise you with all the features of the Keyboard, describing what all the buttons and keys mean and we teach you some useful 'shortcuts' which save you from using the Mouse.

At the end of the two sessions you will feel a great deal more confident about the basic ways to use the Computer.
