Once you have done the “Introduction to Computers” course with SeniorNet you should take Word Processing next.  You must have Microsoft Word 2007 on your computer to take this Word 2007 course.   If you don’t know which word processor you have, find someone to advise you how to find out as it may save you booking for the wrong course.  We offer two different word processing courses: 2003 and 2007.

   Word Processing: Microsoft Word 2007

  First you learn to find your way around the different ribbons, sub ribbons and drop down menus.  Then the course covers some basic features of word processing:

  • Saving and finding documents.
  • Opening folders and documents.
  • Altering fonts and deleting characters and paragraphs.
  • Creating folders and saving documents.
  • How to format and insert tabs
  • Line and paragraph indenting and spacing.
  • Moving between documents, and spelling and grammar checks.
  • Print previews and printing a document. Layouts, margins, headers and footers.
  • Creating numbered lists, managing columns and text boxes

    We cover how to: use symbols and characters, Insert pictures, Clip art and Word art.     
    Move and reshape pictures. Find and save graphics, and learn shortcuts.  How to use a Flash Drive and back up files.

On completing this course you will have the confidence and knowledge to do any of the many courses offered by SeniorNet. You will now be able to make and decorate your own letters, booklets, fliers, reports, and all sorts of other documents.
A very enjoyable course.
