Your New Digital Camera: One Two-hour workshop. 
A hands-on workshop to help you learn more about your camera. Come and find out what the different buttons are for.
Bring your own camera and its handbook and have a look at how to focus, use the flash, special scene modes and much, much more. Limited to 4 people.
Flash Drive Workshop 
One Two-hour session for Windows users only.
You will learn and practise the following
- Rename your Flash Drive for easy recognition.
- Scan your flash drive for viruses
- Save files (documents & photographs) to your flash drive
- Open and edit documents from your flash drive
- Delete files from your flash drive
- Remove your flash drive safely from your computer.
You will of course, need to bring a flash drive with you!
Upgrade to Windows 7 from XP or Vista
One Two-hour session
A hands-on workshop for those who have used XP or Vista
and who now have Windows 7.
Learn how to use the functions and features of Windows 7. All the important basics are covered, together with fun things like Gadgets, Personalise, Aero and Snap.
This will help you enjoy your new Operating System, Windows 7.
N.B. This is not a suitable workshop for those who are not experienced with previous Windows operating systems.
Basic Skills Refresher: One Two-hour session 
Are your basic skills a bit rusty?
Do you need a short refresher before you start another course?
This course goes over some of those basic skills that are necessary to get the most out of other courses..
.......create a folder, highlighting, cut copy paste, save and retrieve files, keyboard shortcuts and more.
Sharpen your skills so that you can enjoy computing more.
TradeMe: One Two-hour workshop. 
Have you ever wondered how to use Trade Me?
Learn how to register and operate a TradeMe account for selling and buying items of every description.
Learn about this Internet phenomenon….the second most visited website in New Zealand after Google New Zealand.
Google Earth: One Two-hour Session
Learn how to explore the universe! With Google Earth, your computer becomes a window to anywhere,
allowing you to view high-resolution aerial and satellite imagery, photos, elevation terrain,road and street labels, business listings and more!
PowerPoint : One Two-hour Session
You will need to have Microsoft PowerPoint on your computer at home.
After completing this course you will be able to:
- Create a slide layout.
- Add pictures and fancy text to your slide layout.
- Use the slides you have designed in a slideshow presentation.
- Save the custom slide layout for reuse in future presentations.
Bring your Flash Drive to save your work.
Skype Workshop One Two- hour session.
This is a hands-on workshop.
Millions of people use Skype to keep in touch with friends and families wherever they are in the world.
Nothing beats actually seeing that person on the other end of the connection.
Skype allows you to communicate with other Skype users free of charge: it allows you to send and receive text messages, talk and have video calls. All you need isa computer connected to the internet via broadband. Not suitable for dial-up!
Twitter for Beginners One Two- hour session. 
This is a fun hands-on workshop for those who want to start using Twitter. Suitable for Windows or Mac users. You may bring your laptop or use a computer in The Learning Centre. We will help you to set up a Twitter account and give you some basic instructions and advice. Then you are up and tweeting! Using Twitter is a bit like texting…..you send very short messages: but the big difference is that you are sending the Twitter message to the world.
Facebook for Beginners. One 2-hour session for Windows or Mac users. 
The aim of this workshop is to get you started on Facebook and to show you some basics: How to Sign up for a Facebook Account, and how to Sign In and Sign out of the account. We show you how to find friends, add comments and photos. We also recommend Account Settings and Privacy Settings. You will need a broadband connection and an email account that you can access online. Facebook is safe to use if you remember not to reveal personal details or any information about anyone which could harm yourself or others. When you put a comment or photograph up on Facebook it needs to be something you would happily share in public because it is disclosed immediately to so many others worldwide. Remembering this will keep you safe and allow you to enjoy Facebook. Facebook is a great way to stay in touch with your family and friends, to find out what everyone is doing and to see their photographs and videos. It is lots of fun and it also has other features like online games and Facebook on your mobile phone. These extras are not covered in the workshop.
