DIG group report September - 'Miyazu Gardens in Spring'

 Miyazu tea house

Showers which had threatened earlier in the day stayed away, so a small group of keen photographers arrived in dribs and drabs at the Gardens from about 2pm. We think the group swelled to about 11 members but most did their own thing so we were never all together to do a head count. The sun shone for short bursts but mostly it was hidden by clouds, however the soft light proved quite good for photography. The breeze proved a challenge when trying to get good close up shots. Flowering cherries were a blaze of whites and pinks and magnolias were still in flower though past their best. Reflections on the pond made an attractive scene and the resident ducks got in on the act too, asking to be photographed, so cameras were clicking.

Later, as I was just about to leave, peels of laughter could be heard coming from the direction of the Tea House. I just had to investigate, thinking perhaps someone had produced a bottle of gin! But no, it was just Sandra and Lyle, regaling Irene and Margaret with amusing tales from their recent overseas trip! A fun ending to an enjoyable outing. We look forward to seeing some of the photos at our next meeting.
