"I'm really enjoying my time with Sandy and family. On Sunday we walked over the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, What an experience and what a view. It was just marvellous. Took 3 1/2 hrs. But 1 hour of that was fitting us out etc. We did the discovery walk, where the guide gave us the history of the bridge along the way. Peter my son in law has always had a fear of heights, but he climbed the bridge and we were all so pleased for him. we got free tickets to go up and look at the view from one of the pylons...The large brick structures on both sides of the bridge. So Sandy and I decided to catch the train and do that on the Monday. I would recommend anyone do that as it only costs $10 and you get a great view from them. It is still quite a walk but not too long, and about 300 steps to the top. I was able to take the photos of groups on the bridge from the lookout at the top of the pylon and have marked the groups with a yellow X as they are a bit hard to see.

Here we are with our complimentary hats and about to get changed. Had special gear for us all. From left Nicki (Granddaughter), Peter (Son in law), Kirsty (Granddaughter), Sandy and Me.

Half way up

Yahoo! At the top.

Mum and Daughter

Just Me. We weren't allowed to take cameras or anything personal, for safety reasons. We were even breathalyzed and put through a metal detector...haha.

Took this and the next photo from Circular Quay...Zoomed in to show the walkers.

This is the top where they take the photos.

The walk to the pylon.

Looking along at 2 groups marked by the yellow cross.

Another group going up. The groups leave at intervals of 10minutes. When Sandy and I watched the groups continually coming and going and started to add up how much they were making from each group, we came up with a very large figure for a days work. As each group usually had between 10 and 14 people in it. It costs $200 each person approximately.
The last photo is of Sandy and Me at the lookout from the Pylon. We did have a showery day for the climb, but no worries...It wasn't cold. Cheers for now Helen"
