This course covers the basic features of word processing and will show you how to create your own "end of year" newsletter, using a template in the Pages application on your Mac.  You will learn how to edit and format text and images.

This is a series of Workshops to help you make the most of Microsoft’s word processing application. You will learn to create professional-looking documents using various themes, visual designs, formatting tools, and sharing features using Word.

Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets

Microsoft Excel is a software program produced by Microsoft that allows users to organise, format and calculate data with formulas using a spreadsheet system. It is part of the Microsoft Office suite and is compatible with other applications in the Office suite.


LibreOffice Calc

LibreOffice Calc Spreadsheets

LibreOffice Calc (similar to Microsoft Excel) is a free program that can be used in the home to record and analyse simple household lists and finances, such as you may already record on paper.



Workshop Series: Spreadsheets

This series of workshops is presented using Microsoft Excel. However, a number of other free programs are compatible with documents produced in Excel and have similar features. These include: OpenOffice Calc, Google Docs - Sheets, LibreOffice and Polaris Office.




PowerPoint is a complete presentation graphics package. It offers word processing, outlining, drawing, graphing, and presentation management tools. Produce exciting and entertaining multimedia presentations that can include animated slides with still or moving images and sound and much more.
