Group Aim

The aim of this group is to help users of Windows get the most out of their computer. This can be done through the sharing of knowledge between group members.

Windows is the most used operating system by members of SeniorNet Nelson. It has many built-in apps and features. A lot of these are unknown to most users. There are also many common issues and problems that come up. For example, how to use the built-in Windows 10 Mail app or browse the web effectively using the Chrome or Edge browsers. General issues such as how to download attachments, organise files or transfer pictures from a phone to a computer are also common.

The group is open to all members. This is similar to other SeniorNet interest groups. There will be a set topic for each meeting, but more importantly there will also be opportunities for group members to share problems and solutions. The session will be practical so members can bring along their laptops. Also, the desktop Windows computers in the Learning Centre will generally be available to use.

How do I register?

  • There is no need to register, just turn up at the Learning Centre and join in
  • Come along, bring your ideas and enjoy learning and helping others
