Defibrillator Training could save a life

Defibrillator training 2019 05 16

Did you know that we have a defibrillator at the SeniorNet Nelson Learning Centre?
Recently, a group of volunteers received CPR and defibrillator training from Barry Howell, who has 38 years' experience as an Emergency Flight Paramedic.
He is also one of five Resuscitation Educators at Nelson hospital. As well as opening our own defibrillator unit so that we were familiar with it, Barry brought along a training defibrillator and a manikin so that we could practise what he had demonstrated.
His explanations were clear, he answered lots of questions and we all came away feeling a lot more confident to cope if faced with an emergency. Barry kindly donated his time as he is passionate about getting knowledge of defibrillator use into the public arena. We are very grateful. T.L. May 2019
